MOHAMMED BIN RASHID SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT ORGANIZES OPEN DAY FOR MASTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM Unique Program Offers Scholarships for UAE Nationals and Government Employees Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world, organized an open day for prospective students to the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. The annual event is a preliminary step in the application process for the unique program that is designed for employees in public and non-profit organizations and prepares them for leadership roles within their organizations. The open day allowed interested candidates from government and semi government institutions to acquaint themselves with the MPA program and interact directly with the faculty members. Participants gained an understanding of the key benefits of the program in furthering their careers, and of its flexibility in allowing them to choose either a full time or part time option. In addition to the permanent and visiting faculty, the MPA program periodically hosts leaders from regional and international public sector organizations as guest speakers. The school also organizes thought sessions that invite the faculty, guests and students to explore current issues related to public governance and public policy. Speaking on the MPA program, Dr Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Associate Professor and Acting Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, MBRSG, said: “Through its specifically designed curricula that combines theory with hands-on practice, the MPA program allows participants to fully understand public policy making and implementation in 21st century government departments, as well as the requirements, challenges and impact of public administration. Students also gain valuable experience in the fields of human resources management, finance and budgeting. We additionally focus on developing skills and building abilities in our students to empower them to play leadership roles in public sector organizations.”MBRSG offers scholarships of up to 50% on the tuitions fees to UAE citizens and employees from government organizations. The school’s graduates also gain a lifetime membership to the MBRSG alumni association, which opens up networking opportunities to a wider circle of opinion leaders and influencers at local, regional and global level.The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is committed to promoting good governance through enhancing the region’s capacity for effective public policy. The school uses a four-pronged approach, which includes applied research in public policy and management, academic programs in public policy and administration, executive education programs and knowledge forums for scholars and policy makers.
