MOM FAILURE -I have to admit that meat on the bone creeps me out. I always try to hide this fact from the kids so they dont pick up my bad habits/phobias. I bought baked chicken quarters yesterday and didnt have the courage to pick the meat off so I just served them on kids plates with Mac & cheese etc. I stayed in the kitchen because I cant even watch. Suddenly London screams from the dining room MOM, are you serious? This meat has bones, its wet, slippery and disgusting! I use my best authoritative voice and say (from the kitchen) London its fine, all chicken has bones and you are now 6 years old and nuggets are not as healthy Then there is eerie silence as she tries to eat it.....then came the gagging with real tears and a pitiful little voice with quivering hands...sorry Mom...I just cant ...its WAY to gross and no little girl should be served a plate with slick meat on slippery bones. Yep....she is my child.
