MOMENT FROM THE ROAD- I was on line at a Starbucks at the airport - TopicsExpress

MOMENT FROM THE ROAD- I was on line at a Starbucks at the airport in Edmonton, Canada, I had $5 Canadian left on me. I ordered a small coffee and a pastry it came out to $5.12 damn, so close. I was about to put the pastry back when a woman on line behind me gave me a Canadian quarter, a very kind gesture that I thanked her for a few times. Afterward, I got my coffee and I brought it over to where the sugar and cream is, I couldnt tear those brown sugar packets fast enough, by the time I was done mixing my java the woman who gave me the quarter was standing next to me doing the same. She said, Enjoy your muffin. I smiled and waved the brown bag containing the pastry slightly in her direction indicating my thanks yet again. An hour later I was seated on the plane reading a book and sipping a fresh coffee, I pulled the Starbucks pastry from my bag eating it while continually reading. Just then a womans voice said, Glad to see you enjoying your muffin. It was the woman who lent me the quarter, turns out we were on the same flight, she was returning from the bathroom when she noticed me. I said, Yeah, it really hits the spot half way through a long flight, thanks again. She smiled and said, Glad I could help. Glad she can help? Lets tone it down, jeez youd think she gave me a jacket and a frozen turkey for the holidays. So heres the kicker, I was de-boarding the plane in Minneapolis, as I was standing in the tunnel with other passengers waiting for our carry on bags, an elderly woman was struggling trying to slide the handle up on her roller bag. I leaned over to help and the elderly woman said Im sorry I can usually get the handle up. I said, No problem they can be tricky some- Before I can get the words out a woman getting off the plane interrupts and yells Thats ok mom let him help you wheel your bag up the ramp. It was the quarter lady and the elderly woman I was helping was her mother. The elderly woman said, Well I dont want to hold the young man up. The quarter lady smiled and said, Its ok hes a nice gentlemen, besides he owes me I bought him a muffin. That was officially the most expensive 25 cents I ever borrowed. And just for the record, it was a scone! SEE YOU ALL ON LONG ISLAND NOV 21ST AND 22ND! Govenors and McGuires comedy clubs
