MORE PET STORIES: *** A PET SIGHTING REPORT: Megan Munzinger, staff person for Rainbow Network, passed along a statement about a PET she saw in Nicaragua. This guy passed along many thanks for his gift of mobility. He received his PET 8 months ago. Before that he had no way to get around in town. We saw him nearly every day this week near our hotel in Leon. (The PET was made in Columbia, MO.) ********************************************************* *** FROM SWAZILAND: Dumsani Diamini came to the Luke Commission mobile hospital outreach to see the doctor and hopefully receive some medications for his aches and pains,. He came driving his PET, though the road was very muddy that day. As long as the chain is greased, I move, he laughed. The 40 year old Swazi had not been able to walk since birth. Last year when TLC came to his community he was given a PET so he could become more independent and move around on his own, and go to school. He is not married. Twin sisters care for him, but one is not well herself. One has a baby. Dumsani travels 3 kilometers (2.5 miles) a day on his PET. This is good for me, he said. I have another type of wheelchair that has small wheels and it is not good on my homestead. Thanks for helping me, he repeated several times, after Dr. Harry treated him. ********************************************************** *** I am always especially impressed by the quality of compassionate work being done by those who distribute PETs. This report came: The children in this school (The Mwanakwererekwe School Special Education Classes) have various disabilities, blindness, deafness, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other mental and physical disabilities. We found all of these children being educated and loved by teachers who are doing excellent work. We came to give love but instead received it from these children. Ron helped Juma learn to ride on her new PET. Everyone is excited when a child becomes mobile. That kind of joy comes from the heart of God. Mel West
