MORE RESONS THE BIBLE IS AGAINST SOLA SCRIPTURA MORE RESONS THE BIBLE IS AGAINST SOLA SCRIPTURA Luke 10:16 “The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.” Acts 2:42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Malachi 2:7 For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. 1 Cor. 11:2 I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you. 2 Thess. 2:15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter 2 Thess. 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is living in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. 2 Timothy 2:2 The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. The Word of God precedes the Bible and surpasses it. That is why the center of our faith isnt just a book, but above all a person, Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh. It is precisely because Gods Word embraces and extends beyond Scripture that, in order to properly understand it, the Holy Spirits constant presence, who guides us to all truth, is necessary. It is necessary to place ourselves within the great Tradition that has, with the Holy Spirits assistance and the Magisteriums guidance, recognized the canonical writings as the Word that God addresses to his people, who have never ceased meditating upon it and discovering inexhaustible riches from it. In fact, Sacred Scripture is the Word of God in that it is written down under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Sacred Tradition transmits the Word of God in its entirety, entrusted by Christ the Lord and by the Holy Spirit to the Apostles and their successors, so that these, enlightened by the Spirit of truth, might faithfully preserve it with their preaching, might expound and propound it. Pope Francis.
