MOROCCO HAS WITHDRAWN TO HOST AFCON 2015 but GHANA will Host. Morocco have withdrawn as hosts of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations just three months to the kick off, following fears over the Ebola epidemic ravaging parts of West Africa and spreading to other parts of the world. The North Africans withdrew after their request to have the event moved to 2016 or to instead host the 2017 finals were refused by continental governing body CAF. My Source from the Moroccan ministry of sports source as saying Since CAF rejected all our requests and suggestions then we are forced to withdraw from hosting AFCON 2015 with immediate effect to preserve the safety of our citizens and for that we are prepared to take any consequences that comes with our actions. Egypt and Sudan are interested in hosting the tournament, but 2013 hosts South Africa are the favorites to make it two in a row. The tournament is scheduled to be played between January 17 and February 08 2015. The Moroccans are likely to face stiff sanctions from CAF, including the suspension of their national teams and clubs.
