MOSES PRAYERS MADE A DIFFERENCE The first prayer moses uttered was fraught with frustration. What am I doing here? Moses asked in Exodus 5:22. God answered in chapter 6, verse 2: I am the LORD. This was the lesson Moses had to learn, and learn it he did. Every preacher must learn this lesson, and once the lesson is learned and the preacher knows who god is, the outcome is always predictable-God will execute His will. He who can say I Am can also say, I WILL, and the task is performed according to divine specifications, not human speculations. (Preacher, if you are feeling too old for the task, take heart: Moses was eighty when he made his first appearance before the fearless pharaoh in Exodus 7:7.) Moses prayed again, and God removed the frogs from the l of Egypt (Exod. 8:12,13). He prayed again, and God removed the flies right down to the last one (Exod. 8:30, 31). Then Moses prayed again, and His prayer stopped the thunder, rain and hail (Exod. 9:33). When he prayed again, God drowned an untold number of locusts in the Red Sea (Exod. 10:18,19). So through prayer Moses not only experienced great changes in his own life but witnessed the power of God to change the course of history. Prayer always has been, and still remains even in this age of skepticism, the most powerful force in the universe. More things continue to be accomplished through the prayers of Gods men than anyone can calculate or even dream of. So pray on, brother, pray on! pray till the darkness is dispelled and the light breaks through.
