MOVING CLOSER TO WAR? This morning the coup government in Kiev has threatened to use force to stop pro-Russian Ukrainians from holding government buildings in ten cities in Eastern Ukraine demanding a local referendum giving citizens an opportunity to join Russia, as did Crimea. Ukraine tries to clear pro-Russian rebels, deaths reported, runs a headline at al Jazeera. america.aljazeera/articles/2014/4/13/ukraine-russia-protesters.html Russia Today provides a blow by blow account of the violence. The American response is to threaten more sanctions against Russia, charging that Russia is involved without providing evidence. The Russian response is to threaten to move its army into Eastern Ukraine to protect protesters if the Ukrainian government uses its army as police in putting down protests.
