By JOHN Onyechebe A contractor with Rockview hotel Owerri Mr Johnpaul Ochemba has disagree with a group of people claiming to be working for Owerri capital Development Authority (OCDA) requesting for the removal of the Rock View hotel club gate facing Okigwe road, Owerri. Ochemba made his stand known while speaking with journalists on the attempt by men claiming to be staff of OCDA demanding for the closure of the hotel club gate. The contractor pointed out that he got an approval from OCDA before creating the enterance after paying a sum of N2.5 million, noting that he was surprise to noticed that the same OCDA thatgave him approval for the gate now turned around to demand for the closure of the gate with an inscription on the gate “remove”. Mr. Johnpaul Ochemba said that the young man who came to claim that he is a director from OCDA was unable to provide an identity and a removal permit from the outfit, insisting that he was sent by the commissioner for lands and urban development, Mr Uche Nwosu to remove the gate. He however noted that the billboard in front of the hotel with the picture of the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha was built by Rockview hotel and not any other person else, pointing out that it was done as a support to the achievement of governor Okorocha in the state, especially in education, adding that the bill board cost the hotel N4.6m to construct as a show of love they have for the governor whom he said is his brother. He also noted that the billboard was not in anyway for political reason, but to encourage good governance. All efforts to contact the OCDA boss on phone was unsuccessful at the time of this report.
