#MSwx - Happy Friday Mississippi! As expected, a cold front sliding our direction is sparking scattered storms this evening. Those storms will start to dissipate later this evening with just a few lingering showers lasting into the overnight hours. The cold front will be near the Gulf Coast on Saturday so shower and storm chances will be mostly limited to our coastal communities and S. Mississippi. The rest of us will finally enjoy some cooler, drier air with highs in the mid-80s. Most of us will stay dry on Sunday as well before better chances for showers and storms move back in by the beginning of next week. A tropical wave is expected to push into the gulf over the next 24 hours and it could move in our direction, potentially increasing our rain chances and totals next week. Well monitor this system throughout the weekend and provide updates as necessary.
