MUSIC | I just went on an Orbital album buying spree on iTunes. Now Im feeling hugely nostalgic and slightly happy/depressed all at the same time. Such great music made by this band in that time - It was a more simple time when electronic music was underground and easier to grasp, almost in its entirety. We live in different times. I feel like how maybe how Duke Ellington might have looked at Charlie Parker or Miles Davis - hed obviously understand, but still be sadly nostalgic for the music he was a part of, not the music that is being made with out him being directly involved. (Not comparing myself to the Duke, per se, but rather trying to make an analogy of a person who came up in a different time, looking at all these new cats and having a hard time grasping it all, like I was able to so easily, in the past). I dont know if I what I wrote above made much sense, but I guess what Im saying is that electronic music has evolved to something I feel more disconnected from than I did, I suppose, in the early nineties. #timeflies
