MUST Haves when throwing a Rise ball... 1) Direction of spin must be bottom to top or 6:00-12:00 backspin. 2) Speed of spin has to be above 20 Rps, preferably 23-30 Rps. 3) Speed of pitch - minimum 55, preferably 60+. Sam does a great job of all three. She has incredible spin rate coupled with speed in excess of 64mph and has put in many hours working on perfecting the low rise. Her trigger is to look low, or look at where she wants the pitch to start vs where the pitch will finish. #hardworkpayingoff
