MY ROMANTIC MOMENT WITH MISS UGANDA, Aysha Salma Nassanga. So, the year was 2003...she was the reigning Miss Uganda. She had come to Soroti on an AIDS Campaign. Ofcourse she had to visit the greatest school in Teso...Teso College. Being a single school, the excitement was enormous. I travelled 2km to look for an iron box. Ironed my uniform to perfection, took a bath (the first in three weeks). Borrowed some perfume from the rich kids (but it was expired...it bleached my nose), then went to the Main Hall. Miss Uganda stood up to give a speech...she was absolutely stunning. When her lips moved I froze. When she shook the figure-8 I stopped breathing. I was a 17-year old horny itesot boy in love. I didnt hear anything she said..until she lifted a football and said, I am going to throw this ball towards you guys. The one who catches it may become my husband. She threw the ball and I grabbed it, instantly becoming a celeb. I went to Aysha to make our relationship official. She gave me a phone number and said, Call me when you get a phone. Ofcourse we had no phones as kids then. I escaped from school to the nearest trading center to make the call. Only for the phone call to be picked by a smuggler in Busia.
