MY SINCERE ADVICE TO JAMBITES It is no news that there is departmental cut-off marks, for your information, those cut-offs are real. Usually, like last year, all jambites did the screening b4 departmental cut-off marks came out. But now, b4 the exams, departmental cut-off shows up same time with the sales of the PUME form, dont take it for a mistake my dear friend, It is real. Also, theres this news about the general cut-off mark to be 150 and jambites should just go and purchase the PUME form and register, my dear it is also true, but there is a but, a very big BUT, (In short, by the time i explain the conditions attached to the BUT ehn.., well, read and see for yur self.) and i am going to tell u the ups and downs to that. For those of you who found ambiguity in my first two sentences, let me explain. Taking Business Administration for example, the polytechnics management does not want a situation whereby, somone who scored below 180 in Jamb and still applied for Biz Admin, should be waiting to gain admission by taking part in the PUME process, NO. That departmental cut-off marks are to help u know yur fate. IF one now chooses not to waste another year @ home, one might choose to buy the PUME form, sit for the CBT and wait till the sales Change-Of-Course form commences, then one can buy the Change-Of-Course form and switch to another descipline, but there is also a clause to that. There are some departments one CANNOT switch to because they are also over-crowded. So for the departments that are switchable to, one has to have the basic requirements in OLevel in order to clear and register, that is if one eventually gains that admission. [*Breathes down, no be small thing for poly*] So, dont think u will gain admission if u do well in the CBT, and u scored below 180 in JAMB while u applied for Biz admin. My dear, before the CBT results are even attended to, the first criterion for trimming down the population is by that Cut-off mark which is 180. So bear that in mind please. (please take note we are using 180 because Biz admin cut-off is 180). So my advice to Jambites are; 1. Bear it in mind that departmental cut-off is real because after the CBT, the departmental cut-off mark will surely come to play. 2. If u didnt meet up to a particular cut-off, and u scored 150 above, get the PUME form with the intention of getting a Change-Of-Course form whenever it is on sales. 3. The fact that u are patiently anticipating to getting a Change-Of-Course form when it comes out is now a yard-stick for u to prepare well for the PUME (CBT) in order to boost your chances of gainging admission into the department u are switching into because, dont forget that, that course is an original course for some other admission-seeking applicants like you. A Wise one once say: when the going gets tough, only the Tough gets going. Dont back out. This year is certain, your admission is gained already, this is just a formality.
