MY STATEMENT ON ICC - The International Criminal court has finally come round tom acknowledging what it all along knew: President Uhuru Kenyatta is innocent. We as the Jubilee Alliance never doubted this, neither did we doubt that the ICC knew that the President is innocent. What concerns us is why the world’s jurists, scholars and experts took so long, wasted such colossal resources and lied to the world so hard. The Kenyan cases at the ICC constitute a monstrous failure of justice and a callous betrayal of Kenyans and the victims of the post-election violence. To term them travesties is a gross understatement. We are appalled by what Western vested interests wish to pass off as international justice. We cannot believe that politics rules over the interests of vulnerable victims of international crimes. Since the commencement of the ICC process, our country has suffered prejudicial profiling and stigma. This gratuitous defamation has injured the pride of the people of Kenya and threatened their sovereignty. The worst part of it is that there are Kenyans who have been more than willing to peddle lies and grievous defamations for thirty pieces of silver. Indeed, these Kenyans are the same ones who thrive in crisis, and see opportunity in every threat afflicting the nation. They would rather lead an abjectly compromised and dysfunctional country than be citizens of a proud, prosperous and sovereign Republic. We condemn them all and wish them to know that none of their machinations will succeed. As the President has said Government will continue in its efforts to restore and rehabilitate victims of PEV while supporting process to ensure justice in our domestic tribunals. We will now focus all our support and prayers in support of His Excellency the Deputy President and his co-accused until the case against them culminates in their vindication. Our solidarity is unwavering. We are confident that the only just outcome is the termination of the case or their acquittal. Any other outcome cannot salvage the already pulverized reputation of the ICC. We want the world to know that Kenya and Africa are no longer amenable to neo-colonial hegemony, exploitation and manipulation. We will resist subjugation and marginalisation with everything we have. Our freedom is not for sale. Our sovereignty is not negotiable. We congratulate the President. We embrace the good news with joy and celebration. We are nearly there, and we will get there. God bless the President. God bless Hon. Aden Bare Duale - Leader of Majority in Parliament.
