MY STORY Hi, my name is Natalie and along with my identical twin sister Nikki and our two sisters Rebecca and Michelle we are happy and proud to be attending this years 2014 Perth Charity Adventure Race as Team Dean-a-Mites to raise some much needed funds for the great cause that is Paws for Diabetics. Paws for Diabetics Inc is a charitable non-profit organisation involved in the training and placement of Diabetic Alert Dogs with clients that suffer the potentially dangerous side effects of Diabetes called Hypoglycemia unawareness. A PFD Alert Dog can give the client back their independence, confidence improved health and Diabetic management and gives family much needed support and confidence as well. Nicoles son Dean (our gorgeous nephew and who also has an identical twin brother Leo!) Has recently been diagnosed as a type 1 Diabetic brought on by a brain injury sustained in a motor vehicle accident and subsequently epilepsy, due to the nature of Deans ABI and Epilepsy plus his Type 1 Diabetes he is unfortunately unable to tell us if he is experiencing life threatening and terrifying high or low Blood Sugar levels and a Paws for Diabetics dog would make such a huge difference in his life and of others just like him and would go a huge way in helping him find some independence. We are participating in this years Perth Charity Adventure Race because we are wanting to get together as a family, have fun and make a difference while raising funds for such a great charity and would love it if you could please visit our page and donate what your heart feels.
