MY THOUGHTS ON THE QUEBEC ELECTION 2014 It is finally over, there will be a hold on another mass exodus and a life line was given to Quebec tonight with 4 years to improve the important issues that affect all les Quebecois et Quebecoises. Our democratic right to vote has proven the true message tonight: if your policies offend the majority of the population, society will rally together to speak up and kick you out of power. The results were proof that the PQ government and its policies were leading nowhere and caused too much division among us. In her defeat tonight (even in her own riding) I noticed that Mme. Marois did not speak English this time in her speech and again pushed on the idea that the French language is in danger. The campaign of fear already started and with her resignation tonight got the ball rolling for the next leadership race for the PQ. The next election is just 4 years away and already I can predict that the “3 wisemen” of the PQ (Lisee, Peladeau and Drainville) will be preparing for another major punch to divide us again. Our voices were heard and I am happy to see that the Liberal Party has won the majority of seats in the National Assembly. However, as much as the majority of us are relieved that the PQ did not win this election, the real challenges will lie ahead to see where the Liberal party will take us in the next 4 years. I hope they can perform the most difficult duty for any politician which is to follow the trend “practice what you preach”. Dr. Couillard, I hope you can do more than just your “best” in order to solve our problems. Be ready as you will be criticized from all angles, from all groups. Along with the importance of healthcare, education and the economy, our request is clear that you get rid corruption and transparency should be your goal. Around those issues, the main theme you need to emphasize is UNITY in this province amongst ALL Quebecers. You used “ensemble” as your campaign slogan…prove it. Much Love MJ (Mario)
