MY THOUGHTS ON THIS. Most sermons seem to skim over, or skip altogether, this part. Is it just me, or are many of the churches preaching more about making everybody feel good about themselves and what God can do for them? I question whether that approach is working. Just step back a moment and take a look at the society we are creating. Do children even know what sin is? Do they know the consequences of sin? (Do we? And, if we do, do we care?) Do they have any role models or heroes in their lives? Are they being nurtured at home, or do they find that on the streets? In a world culture that says its ok to kill babies but you will go to jail if you kill a protected species, what are they to think? Why arent humans considered a protected species? Is it any wonder our youth are confused? They will be our leaders of tomorrow. What are we teaching them at home and in our churches? If we have been given the responsibility to love, and nourish and teach our children, and the children of others and we dont, we will one day be held accountable. God help us all.
