MY TWO CENTS: TAKE-HOME POINTS Having listened at length to the NCN Youtube video commentary by Messrs. Shabazz, Phillips and GFF president Matthias, three (3) points resonated with me: 1. The need to simultaneously COMPETE at the national/international levels and DEVELOP the next generation(s) of players. 2. The importance of an ACTIVE highly competitive senior national team comprising the best eligible players available locally and overseas in maintaining/generating fan and sponsor interest as well as TV-related revenues. 3. The GFF president MUST prioritize UNITY! He has to find a way to bring the warring factions together, to find COMMON GROUND, and to HEAL the wounds of the past so that ALL STAKEHOLDERS can collaborate and contribute to a dynamic vision and plan for the future. The current path of hostility, accusations and finger-pointing is an embarrassment to our country, players, fans and The Beautiful Game. It is therefore imperative that Mr. Matthias finds a way to build UNITY among key stakeholders or relinquish the reins of leadership to others with demonstrated capabilities and resources to do so. ~ Pablo
