MYTH BUSTER Eye twitching is a bad omen. There is no scientific background to this concept. Usually eye twitching occurs without any cause. In many it may be because of an allergy or dry eyes. Twitching may also occur because of a stitch left behind of an eye surgery and also is seen is nervous patients because of abnormal nerve stimulation. An eye-twitch should initially be ignored as it goes away after seven to eight weeks. But a doctor should be consulted if it exceeds this time period. Dr Farooq Afzal Opthalmologist
