From self-penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life, to traditional songs of gypsies, fairies, legless pirates and black flies - Mad Dog never fail to capture their audience with their infectious songs. The band have recently returned from their second major UK tour spreading the Mad Dog word across the country from The Isle of Sky to Lands End. Their recent acclaimed album The Whirling Dervish, as championed by Mike Harding on Radio 2, has become an underground classic, winning the best album of the year 2012 at The South West Music Awards. With support from Sound of The Sirens. Sound Of The Sirens are a foot-stomping, heart-rending, crowd-engaging female folk/rock duo - whose strengths lie in their passion, conviction and chemistry. Abbe Martin and Hannah Wood know how to rock a stage and make you believe in every word they sing. Individually their voices tell their own tale, and when blended together in harmony your spine will tingle - leaving you wanting much more. 2014 brought them some fantastic support slots, and they played many well-established festivals such as Boardmasters, Looe Festival and Leopallooza, to name but a few. Their dedication and consistency has earned them a well-deserved, strong and loyal fan base. Regular air-play on Tom Robinson’s show - Radio 6, Radio Devon and BBC introducing in Devon - means they are gaining fans daily. After performing together for seven years, they became a duo in 2013 and picked up ‘Best Acoustic Act’ in the South West Music Awards.
