Made it to Perry, GA and the New Perry Hotel on my pilgrimage to the BBQ mecca. Stopped at a place that was advertised as the Best BBQ in Georgia on a billboard along I-75. The bar must not be set too high for restaurants here. Pork on Fork and Bam Bams are head and shoulders (and snouts) above this place. I am not too worried as starting tomorrow I will add to my knowledge The Mixon Way. The New Perry hotel is nice, I have the Marilyn Monroe themed room. The staff treat you like family. Met a nice guy and his Mom that drove from upstate NY to attend. Had fun talking que in the bar with them . So far, so good. I am going to see the sights tomorrow before festivities start tomorrow evening. More later.
