Maintenance Foreman Announcement: 14-15 Work for DC Housing Authority!!! Salary Range: $57,433 pa- $73,218 pa Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: At least six (6) years trade experience in maintenance mechanics work; Five (5) trades such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, air-conditioning, plastering, roofing, painting, etc. with at least one ( 1) year in a leadership or supervisory capacity; or other qualifying combination of education and/or experience. Due to field responsibility, incumbent must possess a valid drivers license and be insurable in accordance with the Fleet Management Policy and Procedures Manual. Duties and Responsibilities: Mandatory answers to the ranking factor questions attached to the application. Plans work schedules and sequence of operations for staff; establishes deadlines and priorities on the basis of work to be performed and policies established by higher levels of supervision; based on workload and priorities, determines the number of assignments to be performed concurrently, the number and type of staff needed to do the work and the availability of materials and equipment. The foreman issues assignments either orally or through work orders. The work is reviewed through formal and informal conferences in terms of efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Ensures preventive maintenance and the performance of routine and emergency repairs. Supervises and monitors the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, utilities, fixtures, interior and exterior structures, covering such trades as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, air conditioning plastering, roofing, painting, etc. Oversees the installation, modification, repair, troubleshooting and testing of new and existing systems, fixtures, controls and equipment. Work supervised is performed from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, electrical maintenance and repair manuals in order to determine the nature and extent of repairs required. Responsible for maintaining the propertys grounds and common areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition.
