Malawi Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Maxon Mbendera has hit back at critics who wanted him to resign following irregularities that marred the disputed tripartite elections in May. He insists he will maintain his position. The MEC chair said this on the sidelines of a National Elections Consultative Forum (NECOF) meeting in Blantyre today where the commission proposed a number of reforms to the electoral process to prevent a recurrent of the problems faced during the May elections.
