A weak low pressure trough over eastern Victoria will dissipate tonight. A second trough will reach western Victoria about midday Tuesday ahead of an approaching cold front. The trough will push eastwards across central districts late in the afternoon and will move into the east overnight but not reach the northeast until about midday Wednesday. The cold front will push across southern districts a few hours behind the trough. A new high pressure system will form over Bight waters on Wednesday and will push across Bass Strait on Thursday to link with the first high pressure system over New Zealand by Friday.
