Maluleka eyes Ace, Mooki status Man of the Match George Maluleka said he hopes he can emulate former Kaizer Chiefs number 12s Ace Ntsoelengoe and Thabo Mooki after his brace against Platinum Stars. A sweetly-struck volley and a curling free-kick from outside the box then went in off the post crowned a memorable match for the former Ajax Cape Town midfielder. Maluleka said he was thankful for the support of his teammates and said it was an honour to be performing for the club in a jersey number worn by former greats like Ntsoelengoe and Mooki. The names you that just said now, its unbelievable, they are all legends, and hopefully I can also be able to do the same with the number, said Maluleka. Definitely it wasnt very easy, it was a hard-fought victory. The boys did very well and all credit must go to the whole team and obviously the coach with the game plan. Maluleka had an injury scare in the first half when he went down clutching his leg following a tackle from behind, but fortunately he was able to get back onto his feet. Its unbelievable how the guys tackle these days because it was off the ball, he added, but luckily I was able to carry on. The Chiefs number 12 also credited coach Stuart Baxter for giving him different roles in the team. Its to my advantage because Im a very versatile player, I can play in a lot of positions, so I think its a good thing because I can be able to help the team out going forward, Maluleka said. Its very important [getting into goalscoring positions], I got myself into a couple of good positions today and I could have put one or two [more] away, but in the end I was able to get a brace and Im grateful for that.
