Man! I saw The Yellow Jackets show at The Jazz Bistro last night, Although it was a great show, I wish the show had been longer so could hear more of their music. After the show I called Darrell Mixson and he told me where Ronnie Burrage was playing, he was playing at Kranzberg Center right around the corner. Man! another great concert and what I saw was KILLER!!!! Ronnie and his group Threw Down!!! That show should have been sold out too! Ronnie is a killer drummer, his drumming was off the chain, all round true percussionist master. He reminded me of another great drummer, Tony Williams but Ronnie has own style too. The lady singer, saxophone player, and bass player matched-up with Ronnie to the max! Also special guest guitarist Eric Slaughter was amazing too! I had heard of Ronnie when I was coming up but never saw him play, my loss. Last night he put on a great show and a drum clinic that showed how versatile a drummer can be. Plus he is from of St. Louis! So all the great musicians that come out of St. Louis, add Ronnie Burrage to the list and give him his props. Peace.
