Manali Sengupta and Sudipto Sannigrahi have asked me to enlist 10 - TopicsExpress

Manali Sengupta and Sudipto Sannigrahi have asked me to enlist 10 books which have had the most impact on my life till date. So here goes (in completely random order) 1. To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee(Coz Mockingbirds don’t do one thing except make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corn cribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.”) 2. Pather Panchali (novel) trilogy (Coz some characters are often your soul-mates) 3. Harry Potter (And at times your best friends!) 4. The Story of My Experiments with Truth (A more frank autobiography is probably hard to find) 5. Confessions of an Economic Hitman (An eye-opener to the dangerous imperialistic world we live in) 6. Enid Blyton Club ( I cant imagine my childhood without the the antics of Mr. Goon or the password only meetings of Secret Seven) 7. The Bachelor of Arts (a must-read for any Indian youth by one of Indias greatest modern day story tellers) 8. Tintin series (The books take on a whole new significance once you understand the real life inspirations behind them) 9. The Shadow Lines (This book haunted me for quite some time, such powerful is the narrative) 10. Chander Pahar (One of the greatest adventure stories ever written in any language according to me) Since I believe almost every person in my friend list has been tagged in this challenge by now, I propose to start a new one. Make a list of top 10 lines from the books you have listed. It might be a quote by a person, a description of an event/ person/ nature or even something iconic like Tomorrow is another day. If that means re-reading the book, well lucky you! :D I nominate Sayantan Choudhury, Bala Meenakshi, Rishipratim Mazumdar, Bahniman Rynjah, Pushpa Singh, Sudipto Basu, Sulagna Datta and Sayantani Ghosh.
