Manchester United have made an enquiry over the availability of Lionel Messi, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. The Barcelona superstar is reportedly close to signing a new deal with the Catalans but has endured an unhappy spell at the club in recent weeks - reflected in some of his performances and body language. The Argentine was thought to be unhappy at Neymar usurping him as the clubs leading earner while growing tired of Barcas more direct approach that has bypassed the attacking wizard. The lack of harmony has resulted in reports that Messi could even leave the Nou Camp - prompting United and Paris Saint Germain to try and establish the situation. Manchester United and PSG investigating if Messi is available, Balague wrote on Twitter, with him going on to reveal that serious consideration had taken place over selling the idol. Manchester United have asked relevant people what the situation with Messi is, because the impression they get is that the Barcelona board want to sell him, Balague continued in his article on the Bleacher Report. I know for a fact the matter has been discussed at board level and as a consequence, PSG stuck a huge offer on the table.
