Manchester United hope to use Angel Di Maria and Radamel - TopicsExpress

Manchester United hope to use Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao’s connections to help them sign left-back Fabio Coentrao, according to reports. Di Maria played alongside the Portugal international at Real Madrid, while both Di Maria and Falcao share Coentrao’s agent, Jorge Mendes. Manager Louis van Gaal is hoping that the duo can convince Coentraeo to move to Old Trafford, claims the Daily Express. The Dutchman still seems unsure on £30m summer signing Luke Shaw, aged 19, and has moved Marcos Rojo from left-back to left centre-back. That has meant United have been frequently linked with other left-backs in recent weeks. Coentrao, who was nearly signed on loan by David Moyes in the summer 2013 transfer window and was also linked with a move to United in the most recent transfer window, is the latest of those left-backs. The former Benfica star is out-of-favour with Los Blancos – making just three appearances so far this season – and manager Carlo Ancelotti is rumoured to be looking at alternatives. United will face competition from Monaco in their efforts to sign the 26-year-old.
