================================== Manifestos of 2014 & Regional Languages Coverage ================================== I tried to look at the languages in which various parties released their manifesto. A substantial population of our country is more comfortable with regional languages and their mother tongues rather than English or Hindi. Though political parties do not comply with the manifesto, its very important that should atleast make an effort to translate their manifesto in regional languages. I appreciate BJP for making an effort to release their manifesto in multiple regional languages. Whether they adhere to the promises or not, is a different question. They atleast made an attempt to reach out to people who cannot understand English or Hindi. They released manifesto in English; Urdu; Bengali; Malayalam; Oriya; Assamese; Hindi; Telugu; Gujarati; Marathi; Tamil; Maithili Aam Admi Party & Congress party released their manifesto in English & Hindi. They should have released their manifesto in every regional language. Both TRS and TDP released their manifesto in Telugu. It would have been better if they would have released their manifesto in Urdu & English as well. Loksatta Party: English (Could not find regional language manifesto).
