Manuel Pellegrini Happy With Start to the Season Despite Chelsea Deficit Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that he is happy with his sides start to the season, even if they trail league leaders Chelsea by five points after six games. Sky Sports report that the Chilean is hoping for a victory over Aston Villa in match seven to keep them in touch with the Blues at the top. City currently sit third after last Saturdays victory against Hull City, but Pellegrini chose to reflect on the fact that the club are in a better position now than they were at this time last season. City went on to win the league last season and Pellegrini hopes a win at Villa can help them to continue a decent run. He said: “If we win tomorrow [Saturday], yes, Im happy. The only game we lost was here against Stoke. It was not in our minds that we could lose that game but that can happen in football. I think that, in all other games, we play very well. “It is not good to be five points behind Chelsea but, in this moment, we have one point more than last year. Arsenal was maybe six points ahead of us and we didnt win the first three games away. Things can happen, important things, and we will try to continue playing the way we did against Hull.”
