(Many Milestones made Rhodesia) 04 November, 1977 - Award of The Silver Cross of Rhodesia (S.C.R.) to Flt Lt K. Benecke D.C.D - RhAF - 4 November, 1976 - Britain proposes Rhodesian independence under black majority rule by March 1, 1978. 1897- The Cape railway line reaches Bulawayo. ( Actual day is unknown in November) 04 November, 1893 - Matabeleland occupied. - BSA Company forces occupy Bulawayo - a tattered Union Jack flag in whose centre was emblazoned with the lion emblem of the British South Africa Company was tied one of the trees branches. The flag was raised to signify the capture of Bulawayo and the successful conclusion of the Matabele War.
