Many in the black nation fail to understand the significance of home ownership. This is one of the most damaging elements of miseducation in our community. Every other nation holds firm to their flag, and their land. Now we know the Earth belongs to no one, yet at the same time to everyone...however Manifest Destiny changed the dynamics of peaceful living so we must claim a stake with property. When a people have no land they can not garner an income, theyll have means to produce anything to trade with in the global market and wont acquire any wealth. This is the struggle of the Palestinians, they understand this, so do the farmers in Kenya. A group of people must have connection to land to establish themselves financially, legally, and definitely politically. In the US of A, after the slaughter of the Native Americans for land and the murder of millions of Africans under slavery, reconstruction and emancipation made certain that any non-white would have aspirations of gaining and nurturing the land. Fast forward to present day, all communities that are thriving have ownership of property and business within and outside the surrounding area. Chinatown, Little Italy, Korea Town, Baby Russia, and all Hasidic sections have their own banks, stores, security, health facilities, and street signs in their own languages. This is power, and respect, and rarely will the power ever shift of switch hands. Even when gentrification happens, as it did in Canarsie, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach, etc with home owners trying to save their spaces from foreclosure by renting to Blacks the control of the area remains the same. In order for blacks to become a respectable adversary and competitor in the face of racial balance we must own some land, get wealth and trade some shit. Our communities are patrolled by police, have money sucked out by bankers and businessmen, and overseen by political watchdogs of other nations. Make a connection to the land by owning the deeds, make a connection to the land by owning the deed to the property that your business is ran in, make a connection to the land by being seen as a threat to the job of the politician, clergy and police who do not act in your BEST interest. You dig me?!
