Many moons ago I was asked to prepare an audition tape for a radio station here in the Cape. My short playlist included Mr Sample, Jarreau, Franks, Spyro, along with some schilder, jansen and Pacific Express among others. Was told in no uncertain terms this music was dying - gangsta and rap was the future - Well we are still listening to this music, loving it, and living in harmony with each other. Looking at the present we can see the future that was predicted when that station decided what they would be forcing onto young minds. I am not making this up - open any newspaper tomorrow!
