Many of Africa’s fastest-growing economies have not relied on oil or mining . This is good news, however in all of these countries economic growth has not benefited the ordinary people. Economic growth might not be based on minerals and oil according to the IMF but it is still based on the export of raw materials such as coffee, and the import of foreign telecom firms e.t.c instead of finished goods and home grown technology. To develop, we must acquire the technical know-how and ability to transform our raw materials into finished goods.
