Many of the questions about snakes lately have been about Black whip snakes so thought Id share a few photos. They are usually active during the day, extremely fast (apparently Australias fastest snake) and moderately venomous. At a quick glance they are very dark with a copper head and tail, and some people mistakenly call them copperheads which are an entirely different snake altogether. On close inspection, they have white flecks all over their body, a yellowish neck and much of the body is often reddish rather than black. Many individuals have a distinct comma around the eye but many dont have it. A very beautiful snake up close, but have a low tolerance for being harassed and can inflict a painful bite.
