Many of the sand ceremonies I perform at weddings can be very meaning and beautiful, plus leaving you a very nice memento of the day. Many have had all their children and sometimes grandchildren pour in different colors. This year on New Years Eve, all my children, their spouses, grandchildren and friends were at my home, so we did our own sand ceremony! Everyone there poured their cup of sand in and used it to reflect on the past and the coming new year. Now I have a great keepsake of the evening. BUT, what I wanted future brides to know is that I purchased a bag of white sand (frozen, as it was outside!) at Ace Hardware, poured 20 bowls and dyed them all different shades using food coloring. Let them dry in a low oven, Worked great and cost under $8 for everything!
