Many of you have been asking about Dane Lancaster. The latest update we have from his precious Momma ( Kellie Timberlake-Lancaster ) was on Wednesday June 11, 2014 - Last night was our BEST night since the accident. Dirans precious sister, Sharon Smith Erickson stood watch over Dane throughout the night and he slept!!!! Stirring only once or twice, he got 7 hours and I was blessed with 6 hours of real sleep. It is a major victory over the agitation that has kept him from resting. I praise God for the good night and am asking for a repeat! We had OT and speech today and was encouraged by his ability to follow with his eyes and look at the visual cards that she had brought for him. His major deal for the day today was that he was able to swallow water from a spoon!!! He is still on a feeding tube but was successful in taking in the water by mouth. I am so happy!!! He still hates to have his teeth brushed, but that was true of him prior to our injury! The therapist was wanted a sterile environment in the mouth before he started swallowing, but I had to explain to her about how a roper holds his string in his mouth...... only rodeo people would understand!!! We have sat up for 1 hour this morning and 2 hours this afternoon with success! Trying some warm packs to the hematoma on the head to see if he will have relief from that. God has been so gracious to give us another day of success - to Him be the Glory! I am compelled to speak about something that the Lord has shown me over and over through this week. I was reading in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22. My sweet friend Lisa Long Bradshaw always texts me Praying with out ceasing. Oh how I have done that since that day. Cried out to the Lord would be more accurate. But as I read on through the verses, v. 19 says do not quench the Spirit in my foot notes that says that in translation it means stop quenching the spirit which suggests that the action is already in progress. God gives us repeated opportunities to be used by the Spirit. The metaphor quench suggests a FIRE within the fellowship. When the fire is not quenched, the work of the Lord is manifest. The past 3 weeks have shown me a fire within His people, a overwhelming, all consuming life breathing FIRE through His people. I stand in humble amazement at the Body of Christ that has encircled my family with the Holy Spirit fire! How Great is our God, sing with me How great is our God and all the world will see how great, how great is our God!!! To Him be the glory. Sundays definitely coming!
