Many of you have heard or seen the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And - TopicsExpress

Many of you have heard or seen the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And some of you also have happened upon the St. Louis Walk of Fame, which is a pretty cool attraction on Delmar Boulevard. Sort of like the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, only the St. Louis version has stars in the sidewalk devoted to famous St. Louis people from all walks of life -- Maya Angelou, Robert Duvall, Chuck Berry, Tennessee Williams, Master and Johnson, etc. Seemed like an interesting way to learn about the city. And it got me thinking. What if Indianapolis had something along these lines. And, if so, who should be honored? Should it just be Indy folks? Or should it be a Hoosier Walk of Fame? Might this be another way to draw interest Downtown, say along Georgia Street or Mass Ave? Or maybe it should be someplace else in Indy such as Fountain Square or Broad Ripple? Curious to hear what you think. Also curious about this: Who you would induct into that first class of say 10 people? In no particular order -- and acknowledging (a) this is a pretty male-centric list and (b) Im almost certainly leaving off a few no-brainers -- heres 10 Indy stars to ponder: Oscar Robertson Kurt Vonnegut Madame C.J. Walker James Whitcomb Riley Benjamin Harrison Jane Pauley Eli Lilly Richard Lugar Vivica A. Fox David Letterman
