Many of you know I am going to do nursing outreach with Partners for Rural Health in the Dominican Republic in December. This is the whole reason I went back to school to become a nurse. This kind of work is necessary in the world and truly changes lives. Please take a second to watch this touching video about what medical missions like ours do. Its worth the 11 minutes. You may not know this, but many medical missions are tourism based, and often do not return to the same area, or are sporadic in their return. While some care is better then no care, organizations like Partners for Rural Health are established and are dedicated to providing ongoing care to populations that otherwise have little to no access.
