Many of you may not like my following post, but I dont like many - TopicsExpress

Many of you may not like my following post, but I dont like many of your posts either. Feel free to unfriend me if you find it absolutely necessary. I will be fine, Im sure. You dont like what happened in Ferguson, Missouri? Neither do I. I dont like that an 18 year old man who was leaving a store where he had stolen a box of cigarillos and accosted the store owner was made out by the media to be an innocent little boy. I dont like that a 6 foot 4 inch, almost 300 pound man reached through the window of a police officers patrol vehicle, physically assaulted him, tried to take his gun, and was still made out to be just an innocent boy. I dont like that people somehow think that this officer would have reacted any differently if all of the circumstances were exactly the same in this case except for the color of Michael Browns skin. I dont like that the District Attorney even had to take this in front of a Grand Jury to see if they would indict the officer and the county would pursue any criminal charges. I dont like that there are multitudes of ignorant ass clowns (pardon my French) who seem to think that lighting cars and buildings on fire or looting local business owners stores, thus damaging those business owners livelihood, is going to change anything at all in a positive way. Even if you think that the officer did anything wrong, what good is any of this moronic behavior going to do? Not a damn bit. If anything, its going to harm the tremendous steps that have been made in the last half century or so to rid our culture of prejudicial stereotypes. I dont like that these so-called social rights activists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are nowhere to be found to talk about what a great tragedy it is for a community when gang violence erupts and several young men die at the hands of their peers, or when multitudes of people are looting stores and lighting buildings and cars on fire as a way of protesting. These activists are all pretty damned inactive when there are real problems that need to be solved, but when a white police officer shoots a black man because hes being attacked and fears for his life, they are there to scream about racism before the ink on the witnesses statements is even dry. Are there still racists in this country? Sure. Is every white person a racist? No. Are there police officers who cross the line and use excessive force? Sure. Should it be considered excessive force every time a police officer is required to use their firearm in the line of duty? Hell no. They have them for a reason. Did this police officer do anything outside of what he was trained to do and what was normal protocol? Yes. He let Michael Brown get his hands on his service firearm. Thats the only thing he did wrong. If Brown had successfully gotten the gun away from Wilson and the officer had been the one to get shot, this would not have made national news. It might not have even made state news in Missouri, and Im 100% confident that no one wouldve called Brown a racist for being a black man who killed a white cop. We all know racism only goes one way in this country. Am I the only one who sees the problem with this? Now, am I sorry for the family of Michael Brown? Yes. I am sorry their son and brother ended up in such a place in his life that he felt it better to assault a police officer than to simply get out of the middle of the street when he was asked to. Im sorry that he was at a place in his life where he felt it was a better idea to steal half of a $30 display box of cigarillos than to simply pay for them. It is a very sad situation for that family. That, however, does not change any of the facts that have been presented in this case or any of the evidence that the grand jury took into consideration when deciding not to indict officer Darren Williams. Ill leave you with these two final thoughts: Stop yelling about racism when the issue at hand has absolutely nothing to with racism. That does nothing but harm to the ever-improving state of racial equality in this nation. And lastly, stop yelling f*** the police and start following the f***ing law. (Sorry again for the language). It seems today that people are always looking for someone else to blame, and no one wants to own up to the truth. Rant over.
