Many people dont realize that the bible writers and others were preaching the End of times in the biblical era. They thought the end was at hand when they were writing the bible. All of the supposed signs and omens were thought to be about to happen then. Two thousand plus-years later and many in the world are still ignorantly waiting. And now we have the onslaught of the religious propaganda movies to work the religious into a frenzy to push back against the people who are promoting reason. They are pushing back against the Richard Dawkins books being best sellers, Christopher Hitchens popularity, Sam Harris, Dan Dennett, James Randi, and on and on; the celebrities coming out as atheists and us, the normal, every day people just outright saying we are atheists and not shutting up and showing undeserved respect for religion any more. Because they cannot burn us at the stake these days, and they cant torture us; they will make up cases of atheist persecution (ministers staging mock arrests and pretending to be dragged from their pulpits in handcuffs) < that should have BEEN a crime; it was not real, crying persecution and a lack of respect if someone dares have a Darwin fish on their car bumper or sends them a science, evolution, or astronomy film or says, I dont believe in your god. That is enough to send the religious into a frenzy of How DARE you?! So, they are resorting to a standby that has been used many times throughout history; propaganda. This is why we are being smothered with religious movies. It works too, for a while. Then it will, thankfully, go away because its all still a lie and its still ridiculous and people as a whole are getting better educations and are becoming smarter. About bloody time, too. For Petes sake, 2,000 years of a Middle Eastern myth? Jaysus Cripes give it a rest....
