Many teachers in traditional classrooms try to make learning fun by using incentives such as prizes or games. While games can be fun, if learning is structured correctly it’s genuinely fun on its own. The fun of learning comes from customization. When students are asked to focus on something that is challenging enough to be interesting but never so challenging that it’s overwhelming, they are in a place we call the zone of proximal development.
