MapleLeaks Archived MP of the Month ========================== Tony Clement July 2011 This months MP of the Month is Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) MP, Tony Clement. Clement was chosen on the basis of a recent Harper Government scandal: RCMP probe of G8 spending - also, see here. 50 million dollars of our tax dollars secretly handed over to Clement for him to use as he saw fit. No transparency or accountability. Canadas interim auditor general, John Wiersema, even used the word shady to describe the transaction. The RCMP are looking into Clement and this scandal. What happened to all of the cash? We may never know until if and when the RCMP conduct a criminal investigation regarding possible misappropriation of funds. Clement and Harper laugh it off, but hard working Canadians arent laughing. The Canadian economy is still very fragile with large numbers unemployed, and we are being squeezed as Harper struggles to balance the budget off the backs of ordinary Canadians. And here we have Clement spending tens of millions of our hard earned money on frivolous pet projects in his riding.
