March 13, 2014 Isaiah 55:6-9 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him and to our God , For He will abundantly pardon.8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. My Study Notes (NKJV /NIV) It takes a significant step of faith to believe that God could restore a nation or save many through the sacrifice of One. Yet He can do so, if we will seek: (Deut. 4: 29 seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul). (Act 17: 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us). (Jeremiah 29:12, Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. (2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face(and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land). We should never try to reduce Him to our limited thoughts, (Philippians 4: 8, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things) and ways: (Isiah 53:6, We all, like sheep, have gone astray each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all)
