March 27, 2014 Farada Hensley March 31, 1926 - March 25, 2014 The Herald Bulletin ANDERSON — Farada Hensley died at home on March 25, 2014. He was born March 31, 1926 on a farm in Richland Township. He attended grades one through eight at Moonsville School. He attended Alexandria High School and graduated from Anderson High School in 1944. He was a graduate of Indiana University and received a Masters Degree from Ball State University. Farada was a school teacher and principal for 30 years. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church where he served in many capacities. He was a charter member of the Anderson Sertoma Club. He served the club as president and board member and in 1997 was given the state award “Sertoman of the Year.” He was a certified club builder and worked to form other Sertoma clubs. He loved sports and in 2014 received special recognition from the Indiana Softball Association for his contribution to the game of softball. Surviving him are his wife, Jacqueline; daughter Fara (Ted) Hennington; sons, Jerry (Diane) Hensley and Donald Hensley; nephew Monte Hensley; niece Jerry Kay Davis; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friend, Trent Boyd. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and a daughter. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions to Farada Hensley scholarship fund through Madison County Community Foundation or First Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 230 W. Ninth St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Kevin Bausman. Friends may greet the family in the Fellowship Hall following the memorial service. Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
