Marian E. Magin, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2014. She was 85. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 8, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Rhoda (Anderson) Heaslip. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She married Norman Magin in 1951 and they remained happily married for 36 years until his passing in 1987. Mrs. Magin was a lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church on Porter Road, was a member of the Niagara Society of Artists and was very involved with the art community for many years. She also loved gardening but her greatest joy was being together with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three children; Roberta (Chris) Van Nortwick, Michael (Debra) Magin and Lorraine Magin. Mrs. Magin is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Caleigh and Emily Van Nortwick, Michael Magin, Emma (Jason) Ziolkowski, Lily and Chloe’ Newell and Amber Slocombe and 2 great-grandchildren; Jerry Aaron and Aubriella Magin. Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Wednesday (Today) at 12 noon where a celebration of Mrs. Magin’s life will be held at 12:30 PM with burial to follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda, N.Y. 14120.
