Marilyn was transported by EMS to Spartanburg Regional about - TopicsExpress

Marilyn was transported by EMS to Spartanburg Regional about midnight on Friday because she was vomiting, had vertigo and higher than normal blood pressure. She was medicated, tested etc., and in the morning admitted to the FTU (Fast Testing Unit) where she appeared to be improving. Around 3:00P on Sunday, her condition began to deteriorate, and it was subsequently determined that she had suffered a stroke while in FTU. She was transferred to Neurological ICU. She is able to converse but is unable to stand because of vertigo and weakness. She looks good and is in good spirits and is currently awaiting another type of MRI. You can not call her room but she can call out. We do not know the extent of any permanent damage, but I am hopeful at this time from her appearance and ability to communicate, that it will not be too severe. I will keep you posted of any significant changes.
