Mario Kart 8 observations: So just how rich (moneywise) are Mario and company? I mean, its implied through all the product placement in game that, not only does every character own their own company, if not several (I want Roywear headphones! Nintendo! Make this happen!), but these companies are sponsoring the entire thing. This includes, but is not limited to: custom racetracks (and the architecture and technology necessary for said tracks. Anti-grav and a custom Bowser statue point to the right cant be cheap!), custom karts for each character (despite having the same frame, each car scales up and down according to each characters size), and the necessary Lakitu staff (not just to film the thing from enough angles to be able to create a video editor, but fish the drivers away from certain doom almost instantly as well). Makes you wonder, doesnt it? (it shouldnt; Im a doofus for really thinking about any of this) On a related note: How much are the tickets? There is an effort to put background minions and friend in seats in this one, so there is an audience. I mean, I could see affording tickets to Royal Raceway, but tickets to the blooper space shuttle to Rainbow Road (a luminescent space station in this one)? Must be all those easily acquired coins; How much are they worth if theyre just scattered all over the tracks like they are? Things I think about WAAAAAAAYYYY too much.
